Services \u00b7 Travelling with your pet<\/p>\n

Bring your dog or cat to T\u00fcrkiye \u2014 and through the border without a surprise.<\/h1>\n

The rules are short, but one of them can take three months. We check what applies to you\n before you book anything, then arrange the flight, a hotel that genuinely welcomes pets,\n and a car that will take the carrier.<\/p>\n

What T\u00fcrkiye asks for<\/p>\n

Four documents, one chip, and a two-pet limit.<\/h2>\n

This is what the Turkish veterinary border offices and consulates publish for\n pets travelling with their owner. Each animal needs its own set of papers, originals in hand.<\/p>\n\n

Microchip first<\/h3>\n

ISO 11784\/11785 chip, readable at the border. It must be implanted before the rabies\n vaccine \u2014 a vaccine dated before the chip does not count.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

Rabies vaccine<\/h3>\n

An inactivated or recombinant vaccine, recorded in the passport or certificate. Live\n vaccines are not accepted. Leave at least a few weeks before travel.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

Health certificate<\/h3>\n

Issued and stamped by the official veterinary service of your country, within the\n 48 hours before arrival. Carry the pet passport with it.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

Rabies titre test \u2014 maybe<\/h3>\n

Some official notices require a blood test showing at least 0.5 IU\/ml, done in an\n EU-approved laboratory. Others do not mention it. We confirm which applies to your\n country before you plan dates.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

Two pets per passenger<\/h3>\n

Up to two cats, dogs or birds per traveller (or ten aquarium fish). More than that is\n treated differently \u2014 tell us and we will check the route.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

Breeds not admitted<\/h3>\n

Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino and Fila Brasileiro, and their\n crosses, cannot be brought into T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

The rule people find out too late<\/p>\n

If the titre test applies, start three months ahead.<\/h2>\n

The blood sample is taken at least 30 days after the rabies vaccine, and the\n pet may enter at the earliest three months after that sample. Results themselves take\n several weeks. This is the official example from the Turkish border veterinary office:<\/p>\n\n
